Please feel free to contact me if there are any questions about grades on Q. In most cases, late work will be accepted up to two weeks after the due date. Work more than two weeks late will not be accepted for credit. Students are allowed to make corrections on most assignments for a chance to improve their grade.
Behavior System & Rewards This year, I will be using a classroom economy system. Students will earn a small amount of classroom cash each week. They also have the opportunity to receive bonuses for exceptional behavior and positive contributions to the classroom. Students may use their classroom cash to purchase a variety of rewards in the classroom. Rewards include extra recess for the class, being allowed to chew gum in class, and items such as pencils and erasers. Fines will be charged for various behaviors, such as unsafe behavior, disrespecting a classmate, or failing to follow directions. For serious misbehavior, students will be sent directly to the office instead of being asked to pay a fine. Students can use their classroom cash in all three 5/6 classrooms this year. I also like to “catch ‘em being good” by passing out tickets to students who are leading by example. Tickets will be drawn at random for small prizes.
